Preseason polls had nothing to do with the Utah-TCU matchup not being seen widely on national TV; the Mountain West's crummy TV contract was the real reason.<BR/>2. The last time you could have 4 teams which could legitimately claim the national championship was 1973. (Notre Dame, Ohio State, Penn State, and Michigan-plus Alabama won the coaches' poll which at that time was conducted before the bowls.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
