So what the hell was on Kenny Rogers' hand? And if it was illegal, why couldn't the Cardinals hit him even after he got rid of it? Did he switch to the clear pine tar? Or was it a Tootsie roll (like Andy Van Slyke suggests)?

Meh, it doesn't matter what was on his hand. I'm curious what's in his glove, under the brim of his cap, etc. It's a not-entirely-well-known-yet-not-entirely-well-concealed fact that a substantial number of pitchers find creative ways to scuff up or lube up the ball to give themselves a slight aerodynamic edge. Either way, in a shocking reversal of fortunes, he suddenly appears to be the only Tiger that can pitch.
