Stupid Question...

In honor of the debate questioning...

If you could vote for any movie/TV President, who would it be?

It's hard to beat Jed Bartlett, though Andrew Shepherd is a good choice too. And, just to avoid seeming like an Aaron Sorkin groupie, I'll throw in Morgan Freeman's character from "Deep Impact", because it would be awesome to hear him give speechs. Honorable mention to Harrison Ford's president in "Air Force One", who, if nothing else, can kick ass and take names.

Any movie/TV president? I'd go with the imaginary "Political Powers" Abe Lincoln brandishing a chain (I think it's a chain... I can't exactly recall) from the "Mountain of Madness" episode of The Simpsons.

Tough question, very few presidents have been fleshed out enough to get a good sense of their fitness (which in my mind automatically disqualifies movie presidents unless it was a movie franchise).

Jed Bartlett is a strong lead, but David Palmer (24) was honorable and intelligent. And there's always Lisa Simpson circa 2030.

Well, I was going to say Jed Bartlett or David Palmer, but the last commenter beat me to it...

I responded -- quite cynically -- on my own blog.

Mackenzie Allen from Commander-in-Chief. Not because she is a woman, but because her character's stance on politics is so similar to mine.

Incidentally i have some thoughts on the GOP debates last night over here if you care to weigh in.
