Who Throws a Shoe? Honestly.

The answer: Muntader al-Zaidi. Radley has some video of the would-be Random Task doing the deed.

OK. I know shoe-throwing is an insult in the Arab world. And I know it's kinda scary that someone could walk into a press conference and start throwing shit. (Just imagine if this guy had been doing the throwing.) But is there anyone between the ages of 25 and 35 who saw this news and didn't immediately think of Austin Powers?

I'm ashamed to say, until I read your title, I did not think of Austin Powers. I can never show my face again.

I did, however, think that Bizarre Shoe Incident would be a great name for a rock band.

My Word Verification is "later." How mundane is that?

Yeah, I didn't think of Austin Powers either. But I think that's because I was ridiculously confused.

Incidentally, everyone keeps talking about how throwing a show is "an insult in the Arab world". Well, what the hell does it mean here in America? "Hey man, you're doing a heckuva job, keep it up!" In that case, shouldn't Bush have thrown a shoe at Brownie?
