Maine Event

Maine became the fifth state to allow same-sex marriage today (sixth if you count CA's brief foray into marriage equality). ME also becomes the first state to do so entirely on their own without any, ahem, help from the courts.

I thought Vermont did it last month without any goading from the courts.

Don't forget, you now need to include DC, which as I understand won't be performing same-sex marriages any time soon, but will be recognizing those certified in other states.
